DVD Recorders / Players

Perhaps the most exciting area in DVDs of late has been the advent of DVD Recorders/Players. While many people wanted to hold on to their old VCRs as a recording unit, the DVD Recorders/Players offers the recording feature of the VCR with the digital quality of DVDs. Since their introduction only a few years back, the prices have dropped considerably, and while still more than a VCR, all signs point to the prices dropping even further and DVD Recorders/Players becoming the standard for home recording.

When first introduced, there was an issue of formatting with DVD Recorders/Players, as there are multiple (and often incompatible) systems. Although there are still multiple systems, many models are compatible with both, so those holding off on buying have one less excuse. With the ability to view discs burned from computers, as well as music CDs, the DVD Recorder/Player is only bound to grow in popularity in coming years, especially as the discs themselves get better and lower priced.

- if a rack, tower, cabinet or stand is too costly or large, consider purchasing sleeves or binders to store your DVDs
